Marilyn Monroe: Newest Released Photos
July 8th, 2007

These are photos of that icon of sex and tragedy, Marilyn Monroe that have just been released from a private auctioneer on ebay. Taken at her biggest and now most infamous event: The Birthday Party for President John F. Kennedy at Madison Square Gardens in May 1962. Three months later, Marilyn was dead of an overdose. I am a big fan of the doomed 50's-era sex goddess. It's funny, because I was informed by homosexual friends of mine that many gay men are attracted to Marilyn Monroe and Judy Garland (Bette Davis, Lisa Minelli, and Elizabeth Taylor amongst others). This be true or just a sterotype of gay behaviour. Regardless, my interests is associated with her brilliant comedienne routine (that many believed was her actual personality) that she perfected in her movies, and the slow drip of sordid details surrounding her affairs with one of my favorite Presidents, John F. Kennedy, that surfaced in the 1980's.

Well, over forty years since her death, her affairs with JFK as well as his brother, Robert F. Kennedy is almost accepted as fact. In a nutshell I believe that JFK and Marilyn were both sexually voracious individuals. The question is not whom they slept with, but more interesting with whom they did not. Robert F. Kennedy(RFK) the President's younger brother, then Attorney General of the U.S. and closest advisor to his brother the President, I believe was (by being his brother's right hand man) dispatched by JFK to exact control on Marilyn and her desperate attempts to continue her affair with him. Obviously, JFK knew how to cut and run. Robert Kennedy's position was a little bit more vulnerable. He was an easy target for someone wanting favors from the President; he was more emotional, self-conscious and serious than his brother the President. I think he got way over his head with a woman whom by that time was a brilliant seductress. She wanted RFK because he was closest to JFK. Unfortunately for everyone involved, she was extremely unstable at this time in her life. And I believe he began a passionate intense affair with her. This led to him being in the same problem as his brother.

Next to enter the scene: Peter Lawford and Frank Sinatra. Sometime Pimps for JFK, this time they had quite a handful to clean-up. I think both of these men tried to extricate Marilyn completely from the Kennedy's lives, but she was having none of it. What happens next is anyone's guess, but considering that Marilyn had an overdose just a week or two before she died at Frank Sinatra's Lake Tahoe gambling casino; The Cal/Neva Lodge (near the site where Sean and I were married coincidentally), and was rescued when she could have been left to die, makes an outright murder plot a little implausible by either the Kennedy's, Frank Sinatra or Peter Lawford.

Some issues certainly came to a head on the day Marilyn died. She obviously had quite a shift in emotional temperament and RFK was losing control over the situation. My guess: She imploded of an accidental overdose probably encouraged unintentionally by RFK and others who were trying to control her ever increasing hysterical behaviour.

The mystery is clouded by the cover-up of The Kennedy's involvement as sexual partners, not as murderers of Marilyn. You must remember both men were Roman Catholics and buried as strict roman catholics. Even after death, no one is going to verify the truth. RFK might even have been with Marilyn when she was discovered dead. There obviously was nothing anyone could do for the very talented but headstrong drug abusive actress. It was just going to happen that Marilyn would die of an overdose at some point, like so many other drug induced talents of the 60's.
